In this case, the address on the parcel was correct as RM attempted delivery before losing the parcel!

atarisrocks - you chase them until your parcel is located! Someone is responsible for losing YOUR parcel!

Yup,I can read thanks. However I was replying to the context of the Daily Mail article.
The papers publish this 'shocking' fact near annually.

when i went to collect it they claimed it had already been collected
The OP can't ask for re-delivery. They are trying to find out who collected their property without authorisation.

Try going to the office and saying, "There's a parcel for me, but I don't have the card". When they say, "We can't hand over a parcel without the card", you produce it, and say, "So why did you ?"
  • Hi,
Ive contacted the complaints department and asked for the CCTV to be reviewed to see if that leads anywhere

come back atari, lets us know how you got on, no point starting a story with no happy ending. ;)
  • I got the copy and paste reply asking me to contact the sender but this time it included an email address to take the complaint further.

Ill update if anything happens with that

I don't know if the OP mentioned if it was a trackable parcel (Signed For, Special Delivery, Tracked 24/48), but if they have the 11 digit reference number left on the P739 card, try inputting it on RM's Track n Trace website. You'll get a biscuit crumb trail of every scanning point, so you can see where the last known location was, if it comes up with Delivered, and if it required a signature, then a copy of the signature (and ideally the surname of the signee, although some of us posties can be lazy and just put the name of the recipient instead) will also be there.

If it was just a regular 1st/2nd classer, or you live in Channel Is. or IOM, then forget the above.

  • after nearly 2 months of back and forth they have closed my claim.

They wouldnt supply CCTV as they claimed it never arrived back at the depot or went out with the postman.

I was unable to work out who it was from so I could not contact the sender.

Guess my £100 million cheque just got lost in their system
