Rent in Advance

Anyone got any legal authority on this question? (I'm out walking (0

The contract does seem to be poorly written. The room was originally advertised as weekly payment but I asked if I could pay monthly so he adjusted the contract.
So when you pay the monthly rent, how much do you pay?
* £400 ie 4 x weekly rent? That's not a month!
* or a variable amount depending whether the month has 28, 29, 30 or 31 days?
?????
Clearly the contract specifies a weekly rent. The contract periods are weekly.
You gave valid notice but have over-paid rent, therefore you should re-claim the over-paid amount, initially over tea, if that doesn't work then via a polite formal letter, and ultimately via the courts0 -
I actually pay 435 a month which is a little more than I should but I was happy with that at the time. It does state in the contract that i`m paying monthly even though a weekly charge is specified. I just needed some sort of an idea if I had a case or not so I can take further action or if I dont then just move on and put it down to experience. I`ll visit CAB on Monday and see what they suggest.0
