Removing Gloss from Kitchen cupboard doors....

Hi

Two years ago myself and OH decided to paint half the kitchen doors in about 3 layers of white gloss, never got round to finishing the rest. Now we want to take off the gloss.

Can you dip kitchen cupboard doors like you can normal house doors?

If not how do we get this gloss off.

I think you can only dip them if you are absolutely sure they are solid wood and not veneered.

Otherwise, you will probably have to sand them or try paint stripper .

B and Q charge less for their pain remover than the posh branded 'nitromors' which is really good. If you have an asda near you, this is the cheapest place I know of to buy 'nitromors' paint remover. £2,50 less than my local b and Q.

are you repainting them?
if so i would use a sander, take the doors off and do them outside. less mess to clear up.
better for your health/breathing too.
