Employer charging to change banks

My employer is charging me to change my bank account. It's only temporary, so I will need to change them again shortly. Is that allowed?

Why are they charging? Is it because the payment has already been sent and it needs to be recalled?
Also, is the charge mentioned in your contract?0 -
It certainly sounds unreasonable. What does your contract of employment say on the matter?
Why do you need to change the account your salary is paid into temporarily?
This would be better placed in the employment forum really.0 -
Use the Current Account Switch Service and the funds will be forwarded (from the old account) automatically to your new one! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
