vauxhall warranty on new vehicle

Can anyone tell me if the warranty on a vauxhall vehicle for 3 years from date of purchase carries over to the successive owners and are there any stipulations that apply.
I know at one time you had to have it regularly serviced by vauxhall but I thought that rule changed a few years back and now it could be serviced anywhere provided it was a vat registered garage
My air conditioning appears to not be working and my car is not 3 yrs od until Nov 2017 but I am not the first owner. It does have a full service history but the last service was not a vauxhall garage.

It might depend on whether the a/c has mechanically failed or if it needs regassing. I've seen suggestions that you should check a/c gas every 2 years. Someone more knowledgeable than I might be able to say whether the refrigerant is a consumable. If it is, then I would expect it to be excluded from warranty, unless a seal has failed, letting the refrigerant out.0

thank yo, that makes sense and i will get that checked but I was wondering about the warranty as someone said they were told that it only applied to the first registered owner (which I am not) and also it has to be activated yearly by a vauxhall registered garage. I wondered if anyone knew if this was correct0

I have two warranties on my used Mazda. The original manufacturers one which is still valid for another year and almost 3 weeks, as long as I don't do another 34,000 miles between now and then (am on course for that as i have done 3100 miles in last month, but my normal distances are about 20-25% less than that, and the Approved Used Warranty which is 12 months and unlimited miles. The manufacturers one will usually run concurrently.
Get it checked as a warranty covered fault, but be clear that you don't want any chargeable work done without your express permission, as regassing if it's necessary and not covered will likely be cheaper elsewhere.0 -
thank you, I wil do that0

3 year/60k warranty is transferable. I believe it's the corrosion warranty that needs an annual dealer check. Servicing will need to have been done at he correct intervals. not necessarily by a dealer, but by a VAT registered garage0

Aircon won't be covered, it needs to be used regularly to maintain the seals and you have no idea if the previous owner did or not.0 -

It also depends on what the cause of the aircon problem is. If it's something like stone damage to the condenser - which is entirely likely - then it's not going to be warranty-covered, even if you only drove out of the showroom in your brand new car yesterday.0
