Many thanks
I used to live in Westerdale Road and Kidbrooke Park Road - but it was 20+ years ago so I expect things have changed! I know there's been much development in Kidbrooke although, as you've discovered, the prices are much cheaper than elsewhere which I presume shows it's not really shaken its previous reputation yet. It wasn't the nicest of areas with lots of highrises/estates.
The ones nearer Blackheath/Westcombe Park/Charlton aren't in the nicest areas either with estates nearby, but as AlecMac says, you're still living near/in a lovely location generally so it's weighing up the street/house against the area.
Personally, I'd buy small in a nicer location, or choose another location altogether. But plenty of others will buy in the worst street to get a bigger house.
I would prob buy the one I quoted above, or something like this in New Eltham http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-49188723.html
Or these in Eltham: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-66900914.html
