Online Bathroom Retailers

Hi all, not been on here for a while and feeling a bit daft that I didn't come here first!

We are upgrading our bathroom and obviously looking to save money. We need a bath and some taps and shower bits. I was on the verge of ordering from QS Supplies :eek: but fortunately stumbled across the thread on here first - phew!

So are there any decent online retailers that people can recommend? We will be sticking to known brands but just want the best prices and a reliable service (yeah yeah, who doesn't?!?).

If you are employing a fitter/plumber, they should be able to get you a trade discount that will be greater than the savings you'd make online.

Thanks Macman, hubby is doing it himself as he's quite handy but we may be able to "borrow" someone's trade discount if we were cheeky. Just wasn't sure whether to be that cheeky!

All I know is avoid Victoria Plum. We spent about £3k with them and sent it all back once I saw the quality.


We then found we spent no more with a local independent bathroom place than we would have with Victoria Plum. The speed, quality and the customer service afterwards was excellent in comparison.

Yes I'd heard about Victoria Plumb. Sounds like the local plumbers merchants are our best option then.

It's a shame all these online companies are so unreliable. There must be some good ones out there but it's a bit of a minefield!

Try Better Bathrooms. They have a few showrooms around the country but are mainly on line based. We purchased a sink and taps from them, great service and decent prices.

Thank you both. Gives me some options as I've realised I'm only likely to be able to get trade discount at Travis Perkins and I'm not sure whether they are on the good or bad list

I've recently bought a full bathroom suite from bathroom takeaway. Delivery was quick. Quality looks OK for the price you pay. I've just fitted it all and had no issues.

It all depends on your budget. Many of the cheap online retailers (including bathroom takeaway) will be selling cheap chinese products. The quality won't be the same as the top brands but it will be a lot cheaper.

You mentioned QS supplies. I've ordered from them in the past and have had no issues at all.

I've used Better Bathrooms and the product was acceptable, so will consider them again.

If you have http://willbond.co.uk/ local to you, they have their trade book available for everyone, you can pick up - it's got loads of things in (it's about an inch thick) with 40% off it's listed prices. So at least you'll have a clear idea of how much things cost (on line suppliers seem to constantly have sales, rather than steady prices) and will be able to see the items, before ordering.
