I need to replace the mixer tap in our downstairs toilet wash basin, what (if any) measurements do i need to be concious of, or are they all a pretty much standard/universal fit?

Size (diameter) of hole/holes through basin. Centre distance of holes. Size of thread on existing tap/nut 15 or 22mm.0

They are all a standard size. As long as it is for a basin and not a bath, it will fit.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

If you have a low pressure hot water system (cold tank in loft, hot tank in airing cupboard), then make sure you get one suitable for low pressures. Some are only suitable for mains-pressure systems. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Thanks all
Ectohpile, we have a low pressure system (kitchen hot tap and bathroom sink tap the pressure is just a trickle - very frustrating)
What differs in the tap design for a low pressure system? Genuinely interested...0 -
Taps for high pressure systems will restrict the flow rate so the water doesn't gush out too fast. But on a low-pressure system, you need all the flow you can get, so you need a tap with a wider opening internally. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
