    That's my experience as well with them, they'll advise people to go to retailers to get iphones repaired knowing full well their own warranty has expired

    So it was an actual purchase for your business otherwise you wouldn't have submitted the invoice to your accountant unless you were fraudulently claiming it for tax purposes. As has already been pointed out you can't have it both ways, it was either business or personal and you have treated it as a business asset while it suited you and now want it to be personal because it would afford you more rights.
