Sky Store App

Now I am the first to admit that I am clueless about most things like this, but I have an app on my phone called Sky Store. There is a film in there that I purchased for my kids.

There are other tabs for My TV and Downloads. But all they say is that there are none.

How do I download stuff on my phone (or my kids' ipads) so that they can watch things on the plane without needing their DVD players? Are there things I can download for free?

You can watch Sky Store rentals or Buy & Keep purchases on up to four devices including:

• Apple or Android mobile or tablet via the Sky Store app.
• PC or Mac via skystore.com and the Sky Store Player.
• NOW TV and Roku boxes by linking your account.

Stream your purchases over a broadband connection or download your purchases to your device to watch offline, without an internet connection


so the sky store Ipad app should work

This film that I bought (didn't want to buy, but British Gas gave it as an award - only for me to realise after I'd ordered it that I couldn't have it for free as I was using it on a Sky+ box, but that's another story) has appeared on our tv, we have the dvd and it is also on my phone and both their ipads, so I think I'm safe in assuming that anything I did buy or rent would do the same.

This is amazing. Now I won't have to bring their DVD players on holiday!

What's the difference between Sky Go and Sky Store though?

Sky Go is simply a selection of Sky Channels (largely mirroring your Sky subscription) available on mobile devices.

Sky Store is for one-off purchases of films and sporting events.

Again, thank you. Does this mean I can download programmes onto their iPads (like I can with BBC iplayer)? They will be so happy to get Disney programmes rather than Cbeebies!

And what is Disney Life? I can see I can get a free trial for it. Would this be worth doing for our trip away? Could my kids watch stuff on the plane from it?

Can you tell I want to keep them occupied on the plane yet? Haha.

Just to clear any confusion @Browntoa is referring to Sky Go Extra which is normally an extra £5 a month (Sky Go has no download option and is limited to 2 devices). If you've been with them for more than 3 years continuous (TV or BB) though you can get it for free plus other freebies:

Thanks for this. I might look into the 2 free months for when I go away at the end of the month. I did wonder why Sky Go wasn't working on my phone, but it wasn't telling me why.

I now have a another film to download (thanks to joining Sky VIP).
