  • Thanks for all the replys and advice. I will write a letter of complaint if i still haven't heard anything by the weekend to send at the start of the week.

Unfortunately our tenancy ends August bank holiday, nothing we can do about it, its been on the cards since January. Luckily we had the funds to buy.

I understand they are busy and to begin with we gave the solicitors plenty of space. Its just annoying that they cannot answer any questions we have asked or acknowledged any payments given.

We've also spoken to the estate agent who told us the sellers are getting itchy and want to move and have had their solicitors chasing ours on a regular bases.

Just have to wait and see what comes of it.

I think I find it most annoying because I would lose my job if I treated a client like they have treated us

    Thanks again
  • Is it not possible for you to go to the offices and ask to speak to someone in person? It might be easier to get an explanation when they can't fob you off by ignoring the ringing phone or pretending your emails haven't got through.

That sounds probable given what you say.. however as general point I would say estate agents can be the absolute opposite of what you're experiencing with your conveyancer... estate agents like to tell tales and try to hurry things on to get their money I would suggest...i.e. instead of giving you any factual information they give out plenty of false information...lol. I was certainly victim to that... was accused of making various promises that sounded ridiculous in calls that had simply never occurred.

I always use a solicitor local enough to be visisted in person. It has always proved to be worth it, even though it costs more than alternatives.

Obviously we can't be certain without some further information, but I am guessing that you don't quite understand the process involved here...
