The range - tripod lamp

I bought a tripod lamp from the range which collapsed within 24 hours of us having it. Luckily my son was in his playpen at the time over the other side of the room else injury could have been nasty. I immediately contacted the range by phone and email. They have dealt with my complaint and said there is no maufacturing defect and therefore they will not offer refund. I have asked that my complaint is escalated and they said that head office management have already reviewed and the case is concluded. Can anyone advise what to do now. I am appalled by the way it has been dealt with and how their tune has changed since the original call. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks

Was it bought already set up, or did you have to assemble it?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • I bought it in store
It was assembled and I even asked in store about its stability. You had to put a metal tripod thing into hooks to hold legs together and I was told that would prevent it falling. It didn't!!!

Why even mention the child, it's not in the least bit relevant.

You now have to prove it's faulty and not because you didn't secure it properly. I assume you returned it to store and they checked it and found no fault?

Again... when did you buy it??

You make no mention of having taken the goods back to the shop... only stating "I immediately contacted the range by phone and email".

Have the shop inspected the goods?

    Is it this one?

Were all the screws tightened (especially those halfway down the legs)?
If The Range is saying it is not faulty, then they are implying that it wasn't assembled correctly or misused.
Try again - tighten everthing up (as per instructions) and see if it happens again (well away from the child).
