Safestyle windows not what they promised

Safestyle have replaced my old double glazing windows at the front of my house . The salesman said that their argon filled units would block out the traffic noise and the ones we had in were old and useless . So we have had them replaced but the new ones are more noisy than the old ones . We complained and they have sent fitters out to check the seals and have taken a window out to check everything has been filled . They can't find anything wrong but agree that you can hear the traffic noise. They don't know what else to do and we don't . We are going to sleep in the rear bedroom with the old windows in because it is too loud in the bedroom . We have to turn the volume up on the tv in the living room now , whereas we didn't have to before safestyle replaced our windows . We have paid a lot of money out but are worse off now . Any advice on what I can do . Thank you

I would write to them stating that the reason for purchase was to reduce traffic noise, as they had stated during a visit that your old windows were 'useless' and these would be much better. I would then state that the new windows allow MORE traffic noise through, a window fitter has been to verify this, and could they please let you know how they are going to rectify this. I would also mention that you have had to move into the back bedroom because of the noise levels.

State that you look forward to hearing from them within fourteen days.

Send with proof of postage and keep a record of what you have sent.

Proof is going to be tricky here, but at least you have their own fitter that has agreed it is noisy!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Argon (as opposed to air) filled units should have a small acoustic attenuation effect but in no way "block" noise. Do you have the salesman's claim in writing?
  • No salesman claim in writing . I will write to safestyle . Thanks
