Hi there,
My partner friend is in a difficult situation where she has been warned of potential redundancy.
What is the redundancy pay she could potentially get for working at a company for 1 year full-time? She works 37.5hrs per her contract.

A company does not have to pay out any redundancy pay if you have been with them less than 2 years. However if they're feeling very generous they may pay out something but I would not be expecting anything. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I would disagree, at my previous company 3 guys were removed and each one got their full notice period amount plus a bit of hush money. Employers hate these things dragging on and so they offered something like 3 months pay (that's the notice period past probation) and 1.5 months hush up money. They ask you to sign this form basically saying that in exchange for this amount the employee will not be taking the matter further. Most of the time it's a decent amount.
In fact at my recent company I don't think a single person was sacked without getting this "hush up" money.0 -
Hush money is not redundancy money.
The op asked about redundancy money and john 22 answered the enquiry correctly. This is English law.
Anything else is irrelevant to the questionmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
