Poundstretcher - Returns Policy

I bought some bedding from Poundstretcher and realised when I got home that it was 100% polyester (yuk!). So, I returned it (unopened) to the store but was told that it is Poundstretcher's policy not to accept returns for bedding. I told the cashier that if I had been informed at the point of sale of Poundstretcher's returns policy, I would not have purchased the bedding. Where do I stand legally?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Do you mean you were not advised on any returns policy...in which case the default position would be no refunds for change of mind for anything
or do you mean you were told the returns policy was 28 days but were not told that bedding was exempt?0 -
Poundstretcher returns policy:Standard Returns Policy
We will be happy to refund/exchange a product provided there is proof of purchase and it is in an unopened and original condition within 28 days of purchase. If we find that the product has not been returned to us in a fully resalable condition, we reserve the right to refuse a return on the item. Refunds are issued in the same form of payment used to make the purchase.
Unfortunately, the below products cannot be returned or refunded unless faulty due to hygiene reasons:- Swimwear & Underwear
- Duvets & Bedding
- Pillows & Mattresses
- Consumable Items: food/drink, batteries, light bulbs, toiletries, etc.
- Pierced Earrings
- Hats & Hair Accessories

Unless there was no way of telling that the bedding was 100% polyester until you got home I don't think you have a case. And it would be very surprising if this information wasn't clearly given on the packaging. You could and should have read this before you bought it, you had the opportunity. I'm afraid you're just going to have to suck it up. Obviously some companies would be happy to refund or exchange in this situation - and I agree that many would take back an unopened item - but they don't have to. All you can do is choose not to shop there in future.0

Return is for change of mind, therefore no entitlement to return.
Sell it on Facebook or Gumtree.0 -

As a last resort donate it to a homeless charity.0
