For some reason I have had a few issues with my black box first issue was I apparently was on the motorway for 1.18 miles but the only motorway I live near is between 5 and 6 miles from each junction so couldn't possibly go on the motorway another thing is my acceleration says I have a score of 59 out of a possible 100 which means I must of been trying to wheel spin my 1.2 engine which I have always changed gear and made progress without raging the !!! of the engine and I have 100 for my braking which hasn't even added an emergency stop I made because a kid ran into the street in front of me also my time of driving went from 100 to 85 because I was driving after 10pm as I was running a bit late I got home at 10.26pm or something stupid like that which is the only time I have driven outside the hours of 5am and 10pm I have also driven about 10 miles over the speed limit because a car was tailing me and when I got my speed up he did the same and tailed me so wanted to get a bit of space yet that hasn't registered and my speed is still at 100 so how accurate are these black boxes because it has said I have been on a motorway and I am either trying to wheel spin or have been drag racing by the low score for acceleration which has dropped over just 1 day

I wish they would score people on punctuation as well.
Clearly, the system you have is, you believe, not that accurate.
Maybe you should be talking to Hastings about it? They might be able to actually do something to help.
One more thing - if someone is on your tail and you don't like it, pull over and let them pass. Unless of course you were actually 'being tailed' in which case you must be 'well gangsta, innit blud'.0 -

Do you think teachers set students summer projects to post something inane online and then have to write an essay based upon the replies they received?0

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for your post, sorry to see you're not pleased. On a rare occasion, GPS interference can place you in a nearby street briefly and we are aware it can happen. We manually check extreme incidents to find these and ensure that they're accurate and don't affect your score. If you want us to look at a specific incident you can call and we'll do that for you. Braking and acceleration works on more than actual speed as the box also tell us how sharply you apply gas or brake. The smoother you drive, the better the score becomes.
We also are always on hand to offer tips and help to improve scores as well so get in touch to learn more on 01733 308 380 and we'll be happy to chat

I have been with Smartmiles for about 3 years. I have the feeling that once I put down having a smartmiles box installed, no other insurers would touch me. I am very annoyed. The policy doesn't reflect the truth. Our car is garaged every day and night unless we are out. But if you want to change the policy wordings, you are hit with a fine. I sense there is a collusion going on amongst the insurers.
I would like to know if I would be penalised if I had the box removed. I can't see any benefit as they just gave us a random performance figure to keep the insurance premium high.
Anybody has any idea please?0
