Solicitor complaint procedure divorce deducted 'bill' before challenge

Hi Bossyboots and everyone. Yes they have sent me a final bill. They have also charged £200 + VAT for the bill which I don't feel is fair. They have given a bill that says things like '100 emails' and '50 phonecalls' (not the real numbers I am just giving figures here but they are not far off) but failed to say what the emails are they are charging for. For me to go through every email -I have tried and started - would take months of full time work. They apply for new certificates every time their bill went higher but this was never fully explained to me verbally or via email. I would get new certificates through the post and financial assessments from Legal Aid regarding my earnings.
So if it would take months for you to go through every emai, presumably there are many, and it would take them a long time to detail to you what each email is about0 -

For me to go through 100 emails (you said this number was in the correct ballpark), copy the subject and summary onto a spreadsheet would take about 4 hours. If I was looking to save hundreds of pounds that would be worthwhile.
Why would it take you months of full time work?0
