Win10 only loads on 2nd attempt

Have a strange problem on HP Pavillion laptop. The first attempt at loading win10 always fails and gets struck on the blue windows logo. have to hold 'on/off' button to switch off and when i turn back on again win10 loads ok. Anyone any ideas?

May be an issue with "fast startup"; test: does restart have the same problem? (sorry just going out; also try from command line - with admin privilidge:- sfc /scannow).If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0

Was the laptop supplied from scratch with Win 10? I've had issues with battery and backlight monitor drivers on both an Asus (originally Win 8) and an Acer (orig Win 7), neither company issued Win 10 drivers - Microsoft upgrade program claimed they were compatible, but the manufacturers didn't.
I think HP do offer Win 10 drivers for earlier laptops, it's worth ensuring all is fully up to date with your HP drivers. Win 10 is particularly bad with regard to updates fouling things up, I've lost WiFi and serial ports with Win 10 updates...0 -

Restart booted to win10 Ok. When i shutdown and switch on it hangs but boots 2nd time.
Laptop originally had vista installed. i fitted a ssd and installed win10 a couple of weeks ago. Have 1 x missing driver, image here

Shutdown (with Windows 10) is not a proper shutdown - restart does a proper shutdown though. I suggest tying to work around this by disabling fast start...
