OK sounds like an interesting evening on here last night!
Please let me apologise to ryan85who had already volunteered on another thread to do some dates the same as I. To be honest I didn't spot his/her post as a friend had pointed out it had descended into explanations as to why people couldn't do it. I'd gone under the assumption that this thread was created for the purpose of selecting dates.
As you'll have seen I went ahead and did 3 of the 6 I volunteered to compile.
As to the creation of a list with almost 20 days to go.. well that's just arguing over grains of sand! It took me over 7 hours to complete the 29/02 so I can truly recognise why ryan85 got his nose out of joint (trust me mate I can't apologise enough and I got extremely stressed about the whole scenario too). At least this problem of duplication has been recognised and ironed out.. shame it had to happen on possibly the biggest list of the month!!!
Anyway as mentioned on an earlier post it's VERY simple for each of us responsible for certain dates to run through the lists again and add posts added since we compiled.
As for the 'confusing' addition of loads of comps ending posts I beg to differ. Quite a lot of people have said they don't bother with them at all. That won't change. If a newbie saw a post (like my 29/02 disaster) today they might decide that they had plenty of time to complete them and not even attempt to knock away at it. What could be confusing is when people compile and post them as entirely different threads (a la part 1, part 2 etc).
But at the end of it all there are almost 200 pages of comps currently. Is the addition of a further 30 or so date ending compilations (approx ONE additional page on the headed lists) really going to destroy the forums into some state of total anarchy and confusion?
These lists are kindly compiled voluntarily. As such people may allocate a day off as the time to complete it rather than a few days before. Each user can use the info at their will. They might want it today.. or in 2 weeks.
If a post is added well in advance it would simply slip back down the list (I guess you all refer to the 'default' most recent post display) as long as nobody added a comment to it. The 29/02 is NOT a good example as clearly there was a huge misunderstanding and people suddenly felt the need to add their support and comment further. Anyway look at the thanks on that thread.. It's way too early for even myself to bother with entering with the info I compiled.. but there are clearly LOADS who thought it was useful to them already. That my friends is the only reason I volunteered to do them (to help people who need the information) :money:“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0 -

well...I always steer clear of MyOffers and !!!!!!....they are just SPAM gathering sites.
Really, you could just stick to here..I do now. I don't think any comp listed on the whole internet would be missed here!! I used to look at UKCompetitions and Competitions Companion...but, to be honest, here is the best.
Good Luck......
Tips..use ROBOFORM...and make yourself a comps only email address.
and ENJOY.....and maybe be patient.....but even the smallest wins are exciting...Good Luck All

If you've been entering myoffers comps, then I'm afraid you're likely to be winning an offer of a timeshare dressed up as a free holiday - except you have to pay an admin fee plus listen to their sales spiel.
Don't let it put you off, just concentrate on the genuine comps listed on this site. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Hi all you winners
See when you enter comps, do you opt in or out to 'yes you can contact me' / 'yes I would like your newsletter' / 'yes please send me junk for life' !
Do you think this has any impact on your chance of winning at all?
I always opt out, is it a coincidence I haven't won anything? [or maybe just bad kharma]
Thoughts folks?

I have won on opt in and opt out comps...normally ones like Play (& any tech/game related comps) I always opt in for anyway as I like the emails
But other ones like the IPC ones I never opt in forHave won a fair bit from those I opted out off, so I dont really think it matters, its just luck
