You could enter one and win, you could enter 100,000 and lose them all (although that would be bad luck!). There's no magic number, but the more you enter, the higher the probability of winning should be. Enter as many as you have time to! I try to enter 80-100 or so a day, but sometimes I miss a few days and then do a huge blitz on them, but that's slightly time consuming, and I don't recommend getting too far behind!
Anyway, happy comping!Wins: Jan-Sept:£1991.27, Nov: "The Rough Guide to the iPhone" book, "FWD this link" book ... £12.98
Win £2008 in 2008 number 60, only £3.75 to go! (it is highly likely I'll win absolutely nothing else now this year!)

I suppose it's like asking how long is a piece of string.Obviously you more you enter the more chance you have of winning.Darren0

Hi I think the thing to remember is that sometimes the prizes and winning notifications turn up months after you have entered, and alot of prizes turn up out of the blue
Good luck and I am sure you will win soon, I got a winning email in Nov and the hamper I won should be turning up soon (they said January) and I suspect I entered the competition a few months before so it can take a while for them to start coming through x2007 £1749
2008 £291.99
2009 JanMasscara £7.00 Feb megcabot books x 2 £20 XFactor tkts x 2 £58.00 (couldn't go though as they only phoned on day :-( ) foundation £7.99
total so far for 09 £92.990 -
Ok, I have a suggestion - tried looking for it in the stickied threads but coming up with nothing. I'm hoping that, if this thread is considered a good idea, it too can be stickied and I'll keep it updated. If you don't think its a good idea, or it is available somewhere else and I'm just being dumb, its probs best no to post, letting the thread sink into the murky depths of the comping pool.
Literary digression hastily aborted- I wasthinking that, since many comps are from the same sites (e.g. ITV comps, Glamour magazine, etc, etc) and the rules are usually the same in all comps from the same site, a useful reference tool would be a thread where the general T&Cs of each of these sites were gathered (e.g. the ITV regular comps which allow you to enter 30 times).
It should help ppl work out when they can enter multiple times, or when to exercise some caution. And it (hopefully) helps prevent posts being 'bumped' by questions regarding the T&Cs which newbies are unsure of but more experienced posters know as 'second nature' (lol).
If you think its a god idea, let me know/post some T&Cs on this thread from online versionsof magazines, tv channels, etc., as you come across them.
I'll start updating the initial post to include said T&Cs (and will obv hunt some out myself fromtomorrow onwards, if the idea goes ahead.
Also, if there are sites which often run the same comp and you can only enter a limited no. of times it might be worth posting those here too (e.g. one I can think of is the recent Lottery Macbook comp which is featured on a bunch of sites but seems to be the same comp - but there are probs better examples).
Sorry for the long post.

meh..........based on 40 odd people viewing this thread......if you think its a good idea, hit the thanks button. if you don't think its a good idea, don't. or post with your comment either way. Al Mac - taken your 'thanks' into account based on your comment. this just makes it easier for me to kow whether to continue with thread tomorrow.

im a newbie too...have only been comping for a couple of weeks but definitely see an addiction developing
quick question for regular compers who enter 60+ comps a day - do u only use this site or do you also enter from other sites?
I only get about 20/25 done on MSE everyday.Win £2008 in 2008 - Member no. 3950 -
i started checking here and theprizefinder.com - but most of that site's (probs all of them, exept the spam-heavy ones) are posted here and it got confusing quickly (couldn't remember which ones I'd already entered. also heard of loquax and ggfree, but mostly stick with whats posted here since I can keep track of what I've entered via the thanks button.
other sites also have ways of tracking what you've entered, but unless yu have hours to spend keeping track ofwhat you've entered across the various sites it gets v. v. confusingWin 2008 in 2008 member number.....237!!! Won so far: £0.00

My continued work of pointing out to various posters about the availability of Stickies in order to tidy up the site over the past weeks highlights to me that people generally ignore them.#THANKYOUSIRALEX0

I was once told that if you have NEVER won anything in your life, the chances are you never will. What Cr*p. If you dont enter anything, you'll never know. I've been comping, on and off since the 90's, when I used to win LP's from my local radio for guessing the year, and have won many things since, mainly small prizes, but wins none the less. Enter them for fun, as many or as few as you want, but dont expect to win. When you do though, let us know about itI'm back after a break :money:0
