Did I misunderstand how it works? I can remember some cracking discussions which started out inthe main board, got to a couple of pages long then were moved into the Discussion thread which slowed the responses down but at least by then people were aware of the discussion going on
Otherwise how will the majority of members see the discussion when they may be scrabbling to keep up with comps rather than checking out the stickies? I only check out these stickies each time I'm up to date, so when I'm behind I don't even look at these for a bit.
I've just looked at the forum rules post by Martin & the add on by diva & it doesn't say anything in there about discussions must be kept to the official discussion threadI'm confused. Can anyone help me out with their understanding?
I did wonder about these discussions if they could be bunged in Game Over and indexed from somewhere else - nothing happens to the threads in Game Over do they? They just sort of stay there? And that way we could just have a thread for each thing - How many comps do you enter? How long 'til you won? What autofill programme you use? etc. etc.0 -
To be honest I can't see the people running these competitions being TOO bothered about things like this. When it comes to the crunch they're after advertising and contact details, which if you've entered the competition they've got.
In a way it is better for the comps to be posted on sites as they are reaching a bigger target audience!
Also, when it comes to draw time they have a prize to give away, let's say an iPod, do you think they care too much about who gets it? They just pick a name and throw it in a jiffy bag!0 -

DUKE - you and I seem to be the only 2 left (who know about Roboform) who don't use it!
I like the personal touch. Keeps me busy, although I was in a clerical post for about 8 yrs and did typing as a GCSE! So doesn't take me that long to enter details!
ETA: sorry BabyGiant. posted before reading your message.Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T0 -
Don't forget that all competitions end at some time in the FUTURE - maybe a few days, sometimes a few weeks. It is therefore quite natural to have to wait some time for a win. The lucky winners who seem to be winning several prizes a month are reaping the rewards of a lot of time and effort spent in entering competitions in the PAST.
Good practical advice offered by Nosonddu - thank you.0 -
I can't complain as I rarely find a comp that hasn't been posted, plus I'm grateful for the break0

I've still got 493 comps sites to visit in my tracker (duck) so it gives me time to catch upWishing you a lucky 2023: 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀0
