Hi All. My laptop died the other day and as my wife has said she is getting me a new one for Christmas I purchased an old windows 7 Toshiba satellite one today for just £65. I am trying to install and play two brand new games I got from Amazon (championship Manager 2006, and CM 2008) yes they are old gamed but purchased brand new sealed in packing. I have installed both but can not get them to play. Have even installed "Steam" and installed on there but when pressing play it is saying "access denied please login with administrator privileges and try again" I have tried running as administrator and still get the same message. any ideas how to get the games to play would be a huge help.
I am bedridden at the moment recovering from a shattered hip and broken femur so want the games to help take mind off the pain. Thank you for your help

Isn't championship Manager 2006 intended to run on Windows XP?

As you're in bed I guess we can expect quick replies! (but get well soon); sounds like the account you're running from is NOT an administrator. Uninstall what you've already tried (do you really need Steam with these games?) Then options
1. logon as adminstrator and install games
2. change current account to gave admin priviledges and install games
3. (from current non-admin) account right-mouse click on the game setup file and click "run as administrator"
If no luck try installing in compatibility mode... http://pearsonsupport.helpserve.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/210/21/how-to-install-or-run-a-program-in-compatibility-mode-in-windows-7If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
