Good grief. If you think it's worth the money you pay for it, if you don't, you don't.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

    Some.

I didn't say caviar either, you seem to miss the point.

There are HUGE benefits and the "freebies" you get in economy are nowhere near those you get in business or first.

I'm not defensive at all, I have no need to be. I don't fly Y because I don't have to, but I am on this site because I believe in 'best value' and for me and many others that isn't Y.

My post was about the differences, as picked up elsewhere, I merely expanded. I am not sure why you felt the need to defend yourself in Y as having those things J or F gives without the cost. It doesn't. But that is why J and F exist.
It does have some of those things on some airlines, why do you feel the need to dispute that? I did get free seat seat selection on SIA. I did get to eat and drink whenever I wanted. BC doesn't always give free seat selection - apparently BA charge even in BC!
If you fly J or F (and I don't know or care if you have/ever will) but you will understand. At the moment it doesn't look like you do.
Personally I think your HUGE benefits are mainly superficial fluff. For instance I'm happy paying £25 for a taxi to the airport, I don't need a chauffeur, I don't need extra baggage allowance, I don't want lounges, an airport pub/restaurant will do.

But that's not the point. The point was what that "fluff" actually is - what are the extras you get over bog standard economy. Better food, yes. Ability to eat when you want, no. Seat selection, no. Airline dependant as above.

Most. of the differences are fluff. In F or BC you are buying SPACE. A BC seat takes up about 3 or 4 economy seats.
