Musical Instruments insurance - contents or else?

so would photos be enough then? I don't have receipts as all gear I buy is second hand (buying new musical instruments is waste of money in my opinion).
how about vinyl/cd collection I've got, it's impossible for me to take photo of each item individually...0 -
A photo is certainly reasonable evidence that you owned the item in question. Remember if you got into a dispute with the insurer it would ultimately be resolved on a civil standard of proof, ie you'd only have to show it was more likely than not that you did indeed have it; not prove it beyond doubt.
For things like CDs, if they're mainly bog standard ones of average value you could take a photo of the whole collection so you can show roughly how many you had and assume an average value. If you have some which are rare or unusually valuable maybe photograph those ones individually.0
