Hi all,
We have an "old" Freeview HD Samsung TV. After the digital switch-over years back, we had to get someone in to retrieve Teletext as it had disappeared. I've recently (automatically) re-tuned the channels after being prompted on the TV screen and the Red Button facility has gone again. I can't remember what they did last time, but it didn't take them long.
I've tried manually updating the channels and also removing the aerial and then manually re-tuning (as advised on the BBC website), but nothing happens when I press the Text button (or the red button). Anyone know what else I can try, or should I get the experts in?
Thanks for any help.

The Red Button service has moved from channel 200 to channel 250. Make sure the old one has been fully deleted.
For me, RB0 has disappeared and RB1 is now on 601.0 -
Thanks, I've just checked and Channel 200 is still there, saying various functions have moved (Channel 250 is also there). Any idea how I get rid of it? Updating the channels obviously hasn't done this ...Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0

Lots of hits on Google, looks like a common problem. Have you tried turning the tv off, back on and press the text button - some comments that pressing red may disable the text button !0

Unplug the TV from the wall from abut half an hour. I know it sounds ridiculous but I have done this twice with recalcitrant electronics this last two weeks and it's worked.0

Here, we get signals from two transmitters. The local BBC and ITV news are on the weaker signal and we only get the news/weather info etc on the stronger signal.
... so if you're receiving from two transmitters and would normally change your channel numbers so that the local news is 1 and 3, try the other transmitter's BBC1 and ITV instead (usually on channel 800 upwards, and can even be different on different TV sets in the same house!0 -

Many thanks, but I'm pretty sure we've just got the one transmitter and I'd have no idea how to try and solve the problem on another transmitter anywayWins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0
