Financial association soft search

Hi all

Thought i was quite clued up on credit files but apparently not. I completed a mortgage DIP through TSB which is a soft search facility. I then downloaded my credit files to forward to my broker and me and the wife are now linked. I thought only hard searches could create financial links? Its not a problem but could of been had one of us had any bad history. Just posting as others may find the info of use.

It is important to be aware of what creates a financial link and financial associations are created by a joint bank or credit account, a joint application for credit, a joint CCJ or a declaration of association either to the credit reference agencies or on an application form. Some So, it may be the case that if you have recently applied for a joint mortgage, that may have created the association. I hope this helps in the future, best of luck,
