It's not the size of suitcase that matters but the weight of it when packed. Also, if you haven't booked the tickets yet then you won't know what the baggage allowance will be. I have a small/medium suitcase for when I'm allowed 20kg and a bigger one for 30kg.
As for the betteries, they do have batteries in America, cheaper too, so I wouldn't bother taking too many!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0 -
you should be allowed 10kg hand luggage..0

When I fly to Canada only 5kg max of hand baggage is allowed.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

20KG = 44lb = 3 stone 2lb
10KG hand luggage with Ryanair I believe, and 5 KG with others0 -
i would at least look at the airlines website to see your baggage allowance as the advice above is just misleading. firstly if she is flying with a 'proper scheduled airline' she will be able to take 2 suitcases of a certain weight and overall dimensions0

Without knowing the airline & class of travel it's impossible to say - could be anything from 5kg to unlimited
For the OP - you need to look at the airline AND airport website to see what the limits are in size & weight for that flight0 -
thanks so much for all your replies - we pick the tickets up about 10days before she goes so cant see them yet - we booked them ages ago - will look on the booking form for the airline we go with - never thought of doing that doh!! am getting worse lol....
thanks all0 -
If you're thinking of buying one of those small trolley cases as hand luggage take a tape measure with you once you know what dimensions you are allowed.
The hand luggage allowance has to include all handles and wheels as well as being within a certain weight limit..
Therefore a case which says 45cm on the label is is very often bigger as it doesn't include the sticking out bits!
Also bear in mind how much you want to take as hand luggage, these are usually quite heavy and therefore won't allow you to put much in them.
You can get much more in a holdall cos they're lighter!! :cool:
Have a good holiday:wave:0
