Using Wireshark to sniff Sky router login details

A friend and I both have the same SR102 Sky router. I recently saw this video, explaining how to sniff the router's login details using Wireshark Legacy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdcsmYX7eEQ
Basically, you start a Wireshark capture, filter by udp.port==67, find a DHCP Discover line, and copy the printable bytes of Option: (61) Client identifier.
This works perfectly on my router. I get something like =xxxxxxxxxxxx@skydsl|xxxxxxxx.
But when I try this on my friend's network, the printable bytes that are copied are just =p. I've tried several times, leaving the capture running for ages to see if anything useful eventually appears, to no avail.
I'm connecting to my friend's PC using Teamviewer, and his PC is connected to the Sky router via Ethernet cable and two unmanaged switches. I don't know if any of that makes a difference... :-/
I presume it's not possible that his username is "p" with a blank password?!

Sorry son , ditch the dirty diggers ISP then and get a good one, stating you must use their carp router is tantamount to them saying oh and you must their Telly and can only watch it using their branded specs. I take it that you haven't sorted out the Vigor?
More to the point it is unfair terms and conditions saying you must their router talk to the ASA/consumer rights bodies4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0 -

No -- after an hour on the phone to Sky, I had ten minutes to set it up. I couldn't get the connection between the routers working so I gave up and put everything back as it was.
I'm connecting via Teamviewer at the moment, but I'll be visiting again sometime.debitcardmayhem wrote: »More to the point it is unfair terms and conditions saying you must their router talk to the ASA/consumer rights bodies
Heh. I think my friend wants to ditch Sky anyway after this experience. I said that they refund the £265 that my friend spent on their advice. They're going to listen to the call and get back to us.0 -
Here is an easy and simple way to get the login details from a Sky ADSL router. I did it with the one I have easily and quickly.

No messing with wireshark required.
BTW you are allowed to use third party routers with Sky's ADSL service. If you read the terms they are not forbidden. Sky will just not support them.0 -
sky were once dropping pppoa in favour of 1483 MER which not all routers support
