I've had my Dualit hand mixer for about seven or eight years (I reckon) and it's a soft touch model. When I used it again today I noticed that the handle was all sticky, thought it was the sugar egg mixture I'd been making so wiped it. Still sticky. Used hot water and washing up liquid, still sticky. The soft touch plastic was degrading.
As I need a mixer I looked online - £70.00. Then decided to phone Dualit to discuss my 'degraded' mixer. The very helpful agent said it couldn't be refaced and they no longer do the soft touch models (presumably because they become so horrible with use) but offered me a 34% discount on a new one with free delivery. Done!
Great service. The old one owed me nothing and I'm delighted with the response from Dualit. :T

I agree, Dualit are the best!
We have a 4-slice Dualit toaster, and it makes the tastiest toast.
Have owned it for almost 20 years, or more, and never any problems. It's still going strong!
Although they're expensive, they are definitely worth the money.0 -
Try scrubbing the old one with 99% isopropanol alchohol. It takes the stickiness away.
I have a few appliances around the kitched which have been affected, and its worked for each.0 -
We too have had a 4 slice toaster for 10 years still going, the best well worth the money."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0
