Student - private course - no loan - no CDL either !

My son has chosen a private course in London, despite enquiring off the relevant finance advisors and education board, I was given the wrong info re loans etc - up until the last minute, then told we had to fund all ourselves, we have tried the search for trusts offering some bursaries but told they only apply to full-time degrees, his is a higher diploma......does anyone have a silver lining to add to this very, very dark financial cloud?

I doubt it.
What course/ institution is it he wishes to do?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Its a higher diploma in music, apparently they cover some courses like that and not others, and indeed some years and not others!!0

Sponsorship?
Is there anyway he could get someone to sponsor him?
Its an idea that crossed my mind, now I'll have to have a think on where to look.
Does he work with any musical companies during the holidays?
Contact with anybody through his previous course?£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Where is he studying? Is it a private institution? Do they have any bursaries/ scholarships available?
How are others students funding the course? xGone ... or have I?0 -
Can you not contact the people running the course and ask them if they know of any financial help he can get i.e. sponsorship?! I'm presuming the other students are funding it somehow, unless they're all rich kids, so the people running the course should have access to this info!
Can you not suggest that he takes a non-private course elsewhere?! Can't he study music at uni? Depending on what instruments he plays (i presume he's grade 8+), then a line of sponsorship would be an organ sponsorship (through churches - involves playing organ for the church on a regular basis!). Someone doing music at my university had this!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Yes, I had trawled the egas site to see which of the 1236 charities listed might consider him, came down to 7...then he asked his college, they said they'd only consider those doing degrees!!!!
Yes, he is grade 8 and very passionate about his music...though organ playing isn't a skill, at the moment!!!!...:)0
