I wouldn't be suprised if he wasn't a highly active member on the early IRC chatrooms trying to impart his crashaholic doom-mongering to any loon that would listen.0 -

To be honest, although I called Crashy a pioneer of hpc, I think that he is fundamentally very different from them, in terms of motivation, I think the hpc crowd is/was motivated by potential profit (lol) by trying to time the market. Whereas Crashy was simply running scared, from previously being in negative equity.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
He has been awfully quiet of late, particularly on this thread.
If the likes of him an 40-somethings like brit1234 decide to buy anytime soon, then that would be the ultimate sell signal for me!

He's busy negotiating the use of tooth paste instead of blue tac.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -
There is an Interesting thread bump from 2004 on hpc regarding prices in Balham which highlights the thinking of hpc at that time. Poor Count doesn't realise the OP posted in 2004 :rotfl:0

He's one of the most particularly dumb ones. Reading his posts you'd think that you were conversing with a toddler. :rotfl:0 -
Looks like Crashy has given up on the Debate forum and now likes to spread his nonsense elsewhere...

One of the other things I love about that particular thread is that we also get to see the now increasingly rare brit1234 and his predictions of economic Armageddon by Christmas0 -

The precursor to HPC was uk.finance, a newsgroup from which I have re-posted content here (thanks to Google, which has archived all these newsgroups).
There was a loud chorus of crashtrolls on uk.finance in 1996 arguing that the market had further to crash. There was an estate agent who accurately predicted that in 10 years' time he would wish only that he'd bought more. This was at the start of a 15-year bull run.
One particular crashtroll from that group had quite the little following as he expounded on Kondratieff Waves and the 70-year supercycle. I looked up who Kondratieff was, and it turned out he was a Soviet academic economist of the 1930s. One might wonder at the idea of a Stalin-era economist at all; but of course at that time; the USSR had an unvested interest in kidding itself - and anyone who'd listen - that capitalism was about to go bust and that its prosperity relative to the poverty-stricken Marxist SovBloc was all a mirage. It was probably only a matter of time before someone came along and misapplied the same nonsense to home owners and renters.0 -
Unless the tories stop their Brexit madness, there will be a bloody great crash soon enough because Corbyn will get in illogically by default and then HPI will go to hell in a HPC handcart.
I say that with no judgement placed either way, it's just the clear as day writing on the wall.
2% of Tory voters passing away every year.
More youth coming online.
The Tory party needs a internal revolution to stay in power now.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0 -
Oh dear Oh dear Oh dear, Wonder where those people are today and if they ever managed to purchase a property again.0

Thanks. I knew that these goons had to have crawled out of some early internets hole. My belief of these loons is that you can take a horse to water but, some are so !!!!!!, that you cannot make it drink so will eventually die of dehydration.0
