According to the information on the website, this card does offer 6 months 0% on purchases.
It would appear that you opened this account in-store and made the purchase before you actually received the physical card.
    I. Are you sure that the Partnership Card as described on the website is actually what you applied for in-store and not some other type of John Lewis store card or finance arrangement?
    2. Presumably you have now received the physical card. Accompanying the card, usually on the reverse side of the heavy paper that the card was attached to, should be information regarding the interest rates and promotional periods. What is written there on this subject?
I am curious as to why you made so many payments in such a short time to the card, especially if you thought the account was at 0% interest. In your case I can see no valid reason for you to have made 4 separate payments during a single statement period.

Possibly because OP has paid what they can, when they can.

I've had months in the distant past where I've done exactly the same for that reason. I've also had months in the more recent past where the balance has been cleared in one go.

Nope. You receive the card there and then, in-store.

As CKhalvashi mentioned, I just paid it off 'as and when'. I paid down part of the balance so there was £500 outstanding, with 5 months remaining interest-free. Whether I did that in one payment or 50 payments, it makes no real difference at the end of the day. Nice and simple £100 per month to clear the balance.

Anyway, I spoke to their customer service team last night, who said that this was their mistake, and that I should've been notified that the interest charge would be credited back to me in my next statement, at the end of August. I hadn't received any notifications outside of that email telling me that the interest charge was actually correct. Either way, it isn't the best first impression of a credit card! Come December when the balance is zero, I think it'll be going into a drawer and never used again!
