Amex credit card delivery

Hello all, I had a phone call from amex customer services on Thursday 27/Sep, informing me that my application for Platinum credit card has been successful. I received my PIN on Monday 01/October. I haven't received the card yet, I called amex customer services and they told me that their card will be delivered by royal mail rather than courier. Does anyone know if this is true? Many thanks

yeah thats right, i dont think ive ever had a card delivered by courier and ive had one from most of the banks at one time or another
  • Thanks for the reply. With the postal strike, no prospect of getting the card any time soon then:rolleyes:

As per Murphy's comment definitely normal Royal Mail in a nondescript envelope (something like you would shred without opening).

They may of course send by an alternative method due to the dispute as a lot of companies are!!

Apparently Amex use courier for some 'high-risk' postcodes (particularly London), but Royal Mail everywhere else.

(Was told this when I applied for a Corporate Amex recently, I presume it's the same for all their cards).
