£4700 for gas installation

Options
I've been quoted £4700 for the conversion of oil to gas in a three bedroom mid sized semi in North East England.
This includes:

The removal of an oil tank, hot water tank, cold water tank, old pipework and the removal of the oil tank asbestos flume.
Installation of a new boiler in the attic.
Brand new pipework which will be placed under the floors except for a bit when it will be channelled down the wall to allow hot water to go from the second floor to the ground floor.
Eight new radiators, four double panelled.
Loft ladder and two-meter walkway.
Installation of recessed gas box.

The electrics have already been done and the gas is free to connect. Is this quote fair? The other quotes I've been offered have been cheaper but this guy seems very competent but I am wondering if I was too keep looking would I be able to do it cheaper with someone equally as good?

The quote sounds reasonable. We converted from oil to gas earlier this year. Three bedroom one bathroom semi, Worcester Bosch combi boiler installed in the kitchen, removal of hot and cold water tanks and oil tank, completely new copper piping under the floorboards, 7 new radiators (3 double, 3 single and one vertical), Worcester Wave smart controls, recessed gas box, Magnaclean filter. Total cost was around £5,300.

We got cheaper quotes but went with the installer who had good reviews and listened to what we wanted.

    Hope this helps.

  • It does help thanks :)

Knowing that he isn't trying to overcharge us and that he comes recommend with good reviews means we'll likely choose him.

Sounds a fair cost - One thing, you mention channelling the walls, does the quote include making good? If not, then you'll need to hire a plasterer and then get the paint brushes out.
