You don't appear to be the only one to have been done by this site.

Also here's a google cached version of the page though as you say the page has now disappeared and the links no longer work.

As others have said - if you still have access to your paypal account change passwords and memorable details so they can't access you're account any further and contact your credit card company who you have attached to your paypal account.
Please do this even if nothing further has yet been taken from your account - as it may be compromised in the near future.
Hope you get your £££s back2 Tickets to Blackrock Masters Tennis:j0 -

I'm amazed people fall for these phishing emails. Theyre the type of people who give their bank details to a dodgy sounding nigerian over the phne0

I ordered a DS lite for £79.99 from gamechimp.co.uk last month on what was a very professional looking website, and paid through paypal. After lots of emails with few replies I have drawn the conclusion that I have been scammed and now even the website has disappeared:eek: . I also got an email from paypal about strange activities on my account, which I think may be connected. The following events might help you spot any similar scams in the future.
I have included all the email addresses they have used and even a telephone number (which is never answered).
The original order was placed on 15th September 2007. I received the following email:
EDITED OUT TOO LONG:
So thats the story so far. I shall post again with the outcome at paypals claims department. Would like to hear any comments or advice.
Thanks

Well Paypal have been in touch and it appears they dont give a toss. Heres the email:
After careful review, we have concluded our investigation of the Buyer
Complaint described below.
We have decided in your favour, however, we were unable to recover any
funds from the seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement,
recovery of funds associated with a Buyer Complaint cannot be guaranteed.
Please know that we will make our best effort to recover the funds in
question if they become available in the seller's account in the future,
and will take appropriate action against the seller. Such action may
include issuing a warning, a temporary restriction, or terminating the
account. Keep in mind that PayPal uses a number of factors, including
member complaints, to determine when to take action. Due to privacy laws,
we cannot discuss the details of any action taken. We hope you understand
our policy and that it reassures you that you are safe using PayPal.
Ok this last bit is hilarious:
"We hope you understand our policy and that it reassures you that you are safe using PayPal."
As someone posted earlier, hundreds of people were caught out by this scam, and Paypal are fobbing off everyone who paid directly from their paypal account.
How the hell did they let this happen? They provided a facility for a con man to collect money then turn their backs on you. When did the alarm bells start ringing? Why dont they have an auto block and check on newly set up unverified accounts receiving huge amounts of money over a short space of time...???
Now im !!!!sed!!!:mad:0 -
Basically they are saying if he/she trades under this account they may take some action. What a joke. They are doing nothing to see if they trade under a different account using the same bank details. From this paypal are condoning conmen. Push to get the bank account details so you can report it to the police even if you don't want to take the chance of small claims action.A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

If you used your credit card as the funding source for your paypal you will be able to claim it back through that.......
I noticed that site but thought I would wait and see what experience others on here had with them...phew!!!!
Feel so sorry for you .....I don't know how some people sleep at night!!!0 -
I too was conned out of my hard earned £30. I saw them in the Google sponsored links when I did a search for Boogie Wii. Yeah it's easy to say if it looks too good to be true it usually is and yes I'm a muppet for falling for it, but it's not our fault that we fell for a conman, after all I was falsely under the illusion that Google had checked them out before allowing them to have a sponsored link, how wrong I was.
Anyway, Paypal gave me the same crappy email, and now it's in the hands of the credit card company.
It's taught me a valuable lesson though, from now on I'm only buying from well known shops and personally recommended sites.0 -
I would recommend getting the Netcraft anti-phishing toolbar.
You can get it free from
http://toolbar.netcraft.com/
It resides in your browser and monitors every site you visit, giving it a risk rating, a ranking, tells you how long the site has been running for plus lots of other details in a site report including owning organisation.
It might not be foolproof but it will give you a better idea of who you are dealing with.0
