Tenant Mail

I'm receiving Mail (since 2004) for a tenant who has returned back to their country of origin. I have sent back every single letter unopened back to the sender, could my property be black listed? As the mail seems to be from creditors!
Thanks in Advance

No. its the person, not the house who is "black listed"0

To save time and wrist ache, write 'RTS moved' on every envelope.
Your house will not be blacklisted, but some more persistant bailiffs may need proof of their move out date. Hope you still have the AST.0 -
Since 2004? Bloody hell!
I have had this problem on numerous occasions over the years and the only way to sort it out is to open the letter, find out who it is from and phone them to explain the situation.
There are many people on here who will say "don't open other people's mail", "you could get into trouble", blah, blah, etc, etc
Ignore them and do as I have suggested and it will eventually be sorted out.dolce vita's stock reply templates
#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided
#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now
#3. Cheap houses are a good thing not a bad thing0 -

Personally I just return it all to sender, it was a pain for a while but I don't get much any more.
I'm not sure if there is other law relating to this but S.84 (3) of the Postal Services Act 2000 states:
A person commits an offence if, intending to act to a person’s detriment and without reasonable excuse, he opens a postal packet which he knows or reasonably suspects has been incorrectly delivered to him.
Since you're only trying to help, and have a reasonable excuse, you'd probably be ok. But if you didn't, you can go to prison for up to six months!0 -
Start here;
http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/mps_choosetype.html
and choose 'I want to register a previous occupier at this address'.
Keep returning any back to sender with a note "Not known at this address - Gone away". You could possibly write to Royal Mail and ask them to put a note up on what they call the sorting frame for your address and the name of the previous tenant and hope that they respond by stopping this nuisance and the inconvenience right there at the sorting office.
However, Royal Mail managers being RM managers are known to have their heads up their **** and only positively respond to anything when their pensions are jeopardised. Am I bitter with the Royal Mail, how long have you got?
Oh and by the way I do not mean to offend any of those time served managers who know the job inside out because they have worked through the business. It is just these Johhnie Come Latelys who come straight out of higher education and 'know it all'0 -
I wouldn't waste my time even posting them back. Bin them!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Agree with Shelley - just bin them0

Go down to your local delivery office, and speak to the manager there, asking him to put a note on the sorting frame, as suggested above.
Do you know your usual postie? If you do, tell him about it and he may just return any mis-directed post to the sender0 -

when you return a letter it goes back to the sorting office for condeming by the postie who does the duty.
most posties who do regular duties know the bulk of gone aways os they never hit delivery.
the problem now is people changing dutys, part timers etc not knowing the duties.
a note can be put on the frame but for expemple if one guys putting the mail up and another taking it out it may get missed.
return them to sender and put a nameplate on your door saying mail ony for 'name'
technically a postie should ignore that but most will just deliver to that name0
