Warranties

Hi there,
We had a digital shower installed two years ago and it has been working well until a few weeks ago.
I contacted the manufacturer and they arranged for a technician to visit and resolve the problem which turned out to be a faulty circuit board. The Technician said that the circuit boards were 'always going wrong'... so I contacted the manufacturer and asked if the replaced part came with a guarantee.
The manufacturer replied that the end date of the warranty on the equipment initially supplied was still pertinent and no extension was given for the replaced item.
This seems quite perverse.. is this allowed in law?

Yes, the replacement part it deemed to be the same age as the old part whether it's new or not.

The replacement is just meant to keep the product working as if it hadn't been faulty in the first place. So yes it is legal but this does not affect your statutory rights.

Heat and water and digital, sounds like an excellent idea.
