What if I go over my data allowance?
    Text alerts
We’ll always give you a friendly text before you get too close to your limit when you’ve used 75% of your data, 95%, and then 100%.

    Ah... thanks for that link.
You said earlier you used my link.

I see they quote the different percentages there too.

Interesting to see this on that page:
    Get the My Account app

Oh, and don’t forget, you can download our My Account app or log in to Your Account online to see how much you’ve used so far each month. It’s a great way to stay in control of how much data you use.
That's another way to help you protect yourself as it seems you cannot rely on their notifications.

Your phone should also be able to do this - not only can you monitor how much you've used (and set the date you want the monitoring to refresh to coincide with your billing/allowance period) but you can also set it so that it gives you a warning when you go over x amount and also set an upper limit so it wont use anything above that limit.

If you have an andriod it should be under a heading called (or similar to) "data usage".
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Daughter is with virgin and her texts don't always come thru. But she has the virgin app on her phone so can check plus she has set her phones settings to also remind her.
You can also call 789 for an balance update.

But do remember that they work in arrears so data used now won't be deducted from your account until later. There is a delay between using the data and it being applied to the account. Can't explain better sorry

If you actuially used the data why shouldn't you pay for it. Either check via the app or dial 789 for your balance to see what's left before using the net. Don't complain after the fact.

    They have refunded the charges.
This will have been a goodwill payment. In future, I suggest you use the other ways suggested here to check your data usage, otherwise I doubt you'll find Virgin so obliging next time..

So this complaint, aired on two boards, is for a charge already refunded?. School holidays are definitely here.
