Switched bank accounts - payments going missing

I switched bank accounts earlier this year, from Santander to Co-operative and was told that any payments made to my now-closed Santander account will go into my Co-op account instead. This has mostly been happening, but two payments have since gone amiss.

The payers say the money is out of their bank account, Santander say it should have gone straight to the Co-op account, but the Co-op says they have no trace of them. Neither bank is accepting responsibility and I don't know what to do. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Thanks in advance!
