Hi, got a crack in my double glazing about 6in c 6in in a star shape where some kid in my street threw a stone at it a few years ago. We are looking to sell and want to avoid any 'haggling points'
I've had two quotes so far and 2 companies failed to respond, trying to understand if theee quotes are representative or cheap/expensive
Looks like length 170cm height 87cm
Had one quote for £180 inc vat, and a second one just came in for £145 inc vat and specified '4mm glass, toughened or energy rated will be more'
Any thoughts?

hmmm, seems a bit expensive, problem is not many tradesmen like to do small jobs like these. I reckon the glass will cost around £60, and they are putting the rest on as there time.
Try and find someone who works for a glazing firm but is happy to do it in his own time in the evening or something, put a post on facebook.
I had a 3 small double glazing units changed due to misting last year and it cost me around £130 including the glass and disposal of old units from a guy who did it after work0 -

Thanks for the heads up0 -
If you're moving out, then just go for the cheapest, and pay them once they're finished and you're happy with the job.0

It's pretty easy to change the glass DIY. You can measure up the unit and get it made directly by any glazier. There's several to choose from in our town.
Has anyone written down the size for you already
There's endless videos on youtube etc of how to change a DG unit.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
