I'm not really interested in returns or comparisons, but I expect a 60/40 portfolio of Vanguard FTSE Global All Cap Index and Vanguard Global Bond Index will have done a bit better than VLS60 because of the higher US equity exposure.
bostonerimus, I'm not asking for recommendations or pros/cons over any given time period, I'm interested in understanding the different assets I would be investing in through LS compared to All Cap + Bond.

The have a look at the composition of the funds...it will take a couple of mins,

  • Well, there is always a expert at each type of investment. They do that for work so it might be safer if you get a counseling from them.

I like multi asset funds so only tend to stick to them for the broad diversification they give. I tend to look for medium risk so I look at the risk rating, where they invest and what asset classes they cover. I don't want exposure to property as a lot of our assets are already tied up in that so I look for funds which invest mainly in bonds, gilts, equities and commodities.

After I have narrowed down the funds I am looking at I then read up on trustnet, morning star, monevator and this forum to see how the funds have performed over the last 3-5 years. So far I have invested only in Vanguard lifestrategy 60 but I am researching Artemis monthly distribution as I retire at the end of the year and am looking to cover a monthly shortfall on income by using an income fund rather than accumulation.
