Aqualisa Hydramax Shower Dripping Water

Hi people in the know. The shower in the house we bought last year drips water when turned off. Fed up with the sound of it dripping and the subsequent splashing we've started placing it on top of the plug, but wary this is wasting water and costing us money. If you listen careful you can hear a sort of faint hissing noise as though water is slightly running.
Looking online, it seems we might be able to buy the cartridge but they seem expensive and, weirdly, it's potentially cheaper to just buy a whole new mixer set. The issue here is the current one is large and so the new one wouldn't necessarily cover where the old one drilled into the tiles (see pics). At some point we'd like to redo this bathroom but just looking for a temp fix for now.
Advice appreciated and TIA.

Do you have a pressure reducing valve? (PRV) I'm guessing you don't because most people think that ****ing about with the stop tap somehow miraculously controls the static water pressure..........
I had new mixer taps that leaked constantly until I fitted a PRV, the external water pressure was nearly 6 bar, the taps are rated for 3.5 bar, so it's easy to see why they leaked so badly. In some areas of the country static water pressure has been measured as high as 10 bar and years ago my own parents had a burst pipe in the middle of summer whilst they were away for 3 weeks, when they got home they found 3 rooms worth of furniture, TVs, carpets all ruined and mold growing on walls around the rest of house from all the damp.
PRV, sold at Screwfix for about £20, worth every penny.
Without one, your inside water pressure is always equal to the water pressure in the main pipes in the street (no matter how much you screw with the stop tap).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Hi. Not sure about a PRV but i don't have an issue with other taps in the house - just this one. The faint hissing noise coming from the unit makes me think it's the cartridge or washer within the unit but I'm no expert.Increasingly money-conscious
