Also, using the calculator on here I've worked out to pay off the mortgage by the time I'm 50 would need an overpayment of £600 a month, for 13 years.
That'll be my next diary thenhaha

Been told by our boss that none of us will be getting a bonus next year.
I actually don't mind really as given the choice I would obviously rather still have a job than a bonus
Things aren't wonderful at home, husband is still on furlough and getting very bored now
Also he says he wants to go back to having his money paid into my account and me looking after everything like before. Not sure what to do, I've said if we do that he'll be on a strict budget and cant keep asking for money all the time

You have been down this road before with your husband haven't you? You seem to have been much more in control of your finances since you split them. No doubt he has got himself in a mess has he and looking to you to sort him out? I suppose if you make it clear you will not be doling out money left right and centre and he will have to learn to live within a budget you can keep a better eye on his finances. I think you have got better at saying no to him so it may work but it smacks a little bit like him opting out of sorting his finances out himself. Any defaults he has though may impact on your credit record assuming you have a joint mortgage so keeping an eye on what he is doing may be worth it. I am sure you will make the right decision. Did you decide whether to pay off the loan early?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Yes its only been the last year or so that the money has been split
He doesn't have any defaults
I've made it clear that he'll need to stick to a budget and I wont just be handing over money whenever he asks.
I've done a SOA and it looks like I'll be able to pay £1,000 a month off the debt and also save £1,000 a month (or maybe do £1500 debt, £500 savings) by having our money in one pot, like now I would do this on pay day then we'd be forced to live on what's left in the account.
Would be clearing my debt first of course! Then move on to his

Had a bit of a result today, our Sky contract had ended and the price went up to £86 a month
Went on the online chat and said I wanted to leave (although didn't really, Sky is worth having if you don't get out much like me)
I've got it down to £55 a month (we have all the channels including Sports and Movies) plus for staying with them they are going to upgrade us to the Sky Q box for free, that's normally £199

Well done on the sky saving, I've had a good catch up on your diary and my oh is similar with his finances. It can be really frustrating for me, but I'm also hoping he's starting to see the benefit of budgeting. I find it really frustrating sometimes especially when something suddenly comes up and your then required to help xPennies starts again...........2022 - £13,579.222

He did nothing about it but the thought was there LOL so that's a start. Sky is in my name so he couldn't of done anything anyway
He gets paid Friday and he says he's changed it with work so it will get paid into my account, must remind him to change his direct debits.
I'll be sending money to debts and savings account on pay day so it's gone from the account straight away
It's his birthday today so I might give him the day off from me moaning about money. Or maybe not

Well done on the Sky saving. £55 is still a lot though. I use amazon prime for films etc (£7.99 per month) and we have the basic Sky package for £24 as my DH likes some of the discovery channels etc. We do not have sports though. You have to keep on at these companies to try and keep the bills low. My mobile contract just finished and it took me ages but I have managed to negotiate £6 a month sim only for 4GB data/ unlimited calls and texts.
Hope the new finance arrangement works out ok for you both.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. If it was just me I'd have the basic sky package but husband does watch the sports channels so I don't mind having them.
My next one is gas & electric as that's out of contract now.
Then my mobile contract finishes in October, will be going sim only so bill will go down from £50 to about £6 a month
