DDs taken early

Natwest take DDs from my account on Friday if they are due the following Monday. I have taken this to the Financial Services Ombudsman and he doesn't seem to be interested. In a previous (closed) thread, chambta said
"The bank has been told to look into the effects of this - primarily the pre-positioning of debits on accounts. It's possible that present arrangements may be forced to be changed"
Does anybody have any more information on this, please? 0

On my account, NatWest show Monday's direct debits (and BACS credits) on the previous Saturday. Whilst these may appear on Saturday they are always have Monday's date. The only balance affected is Saturday's available balance which may result in a customer nor being able to withdraw their money on Saturday or Sunday. NatWest's website has information on this and also how to access this money over the weekend.
I have not heard about Monday's transactions appearing on the previous Friday. I would recommend lodging a complaint with NatWest.0 -
They take it Saturday if it is due the Monday in the same way that if you are due to be paid Monday, the money appears in your account on Saturday.Dwy galon, un dyhead,
