Some people's bias won't let them see any value in alternative options.

i use passive and managed. I see the benefits of both and use both where appropriate. I am neither biased to one or the other.

Hi There, If anyone could possibly shed light on how Index Tracking Funds works possibly wrapped in an ISA in simple terms possibly? We have just Inherited approx £75,000 I heard a piece on morning news recently, this is good pension option for the future, is it good way to invest and what are the pros and cons if anyone has had experience? We would be grateful of any feedback. I have had a look on line all a bit baffling to me. Thank you.

I suggest you do a bit of reading, but basically an index tracker fund is an inexpensive way to invest in things like stocks or bonds. You can buy a tracker inside an ISA or a work place pension or a personal pension like a SIPP. There are also things called multi-asset tracker funds that are funds that contain a number of index trackers that will give you a good mix of global stocks and bonds. I'd probably start with one of those multi-asset funds. There are a lot to choose from.....probably too many.....but if you read around here or go over to vanguard.co.uk and read their website you'll get the basics.
