Post #5 - people aren't dying quickly enough.
Don't panic, the conservatives have plans for that.

I doubt it - the main beneficiaries of DB pensions are their core voters....

Does that apply generally to all energy suppliers? I've got a deal which ends on 30 Sept and it says there's a penalty if I switch before 30 Sept.

Sadly, not all the suppliers appear to be playing by the rules:

Well I was on a cheap GBE electric-only deal, paying just under £700 per year. Last week I did a comparison and switched to BG for £880 on a 2yr fix, which is currently going through. Following today’s price hike, the 2yr fix would have gone up to over £1,000 (a 13.5% rise) - blimey, I timed that well !!

The price increase is only to the STANDARD VARIABLE TARIFF not the fixed ones so your price would not have been altered.

I've just price fixed for 2 years with Scottish Power before everyone else follows suit.

I meant their policy of lowering the population through poverty. ;)

Correct, but I meant if I hadn't switched last week, the same fix now would cost 13.5% more as they have today withdrawn the 'HomeEnergy Fixed Aug 2019' product, and replaced it with the 'HomeEnergy Secure Aug 2019' product...

Interesting that the BG spokesman when being interviewed on BBC news this morning, said not once but twice, that Elec wholesale prices had not gone up since 2013 !
