I use AVG free anti-virus, I have no firewall, relying on the windows firewall is this okay?

It will stop people getting in (as does your router), just wont tell you if something wants to get out.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Disable Windows Firewall in Windows XP SP2
To do this, follow these steps:
1.Click Start, click Run, type Firewall.cpl, and then click OK.
2.On the General tab, click Off and then click OK.Ex forum ambassador

downloaded, disabled XP firewall, but couldn't get back onto the internet when installed, restored back to before I downloaded and it is back as normal.

What would want to get out?
also downloaded http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/ but still had problems getting online,slowed everthing down, also warning popups which I didn't uderstand.
Think I am going to leave it as it was.no debts0
