Lasting Power of Attorney and Credit Score

Today my father broached the subject of setting up a lasting power of attorney so to help him I bookmarked the advice on the MSE website.
My only problem with this is that I have a dismal credit score due to stupid behaviour when I was younger. I am concerned that the banks would refuse to allow me to be his attorney because of this.
Could anyone advise me please.

It won't affect your ability to act as his attorney, and the banks will not do checks on you in this capacity.0
