I'm another one who needs to get back into a regular cleaning/decluttering routine. I start the week well then it all goes downhill. I love the idea of flylady and have tried it several times. It's hard for me to keep on top of the housework when I work full time, have Mr SA crashing about the house all day, a dog that throws all the cushions off the sofa and a cat constantly in and out of the house leaving muddy paw prints everywhere.
Your cat stories make me laugh, I'm down to just one cat now plus a small dog. I bought the cat a comfy bed but she prefers to stretch out in the dog's much larger bed.
I'm having a go at the lentil loaf this weekend so thanks for the recipe. I think it's brilliant how you take the time to post your recipes.
Have a fab weekendI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Just catching up with your diary. Agree with SA on how well you do to write down your recipes for us on top of all you do. If you ever, ever get the time I think a redo blog would be in order!
Great news on the de-cluttering!:j It makes so much of a difference doesn't it when you have nice clear spaces to live with. It just makes you feel so much more peaceful. I know it can then make you look at your home and think hmm now we need to redecorate etc, but that can all be taken care of in time. I do hope your OH and the boys follow your lead in keeping things up to scratch.
Re the felines - you're right - they hate having their little hidey-holes removed. DD and I were looking through some of the photos she has taken of her cats over the years. Sadly one has gone to the big cardboard box heaven for cats in the sky but the other one still makes good by lying over keyboards, etc. We did laugh at one photo where dear little ginger feline decided to stick her head inside a plastic bag - she lay there for about twenty minutes not moving. Obviously thinking, ha ha nobody can see me, but forgetting that 85% of her was still visible.....Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

One of those busy days where you move constantly but nothing much actually gets done. Visitors which killed the afternoon, but it was lovely to not have to crisis clean this morning.
A rare sighting of our other young ginger, he was catnapped by elderly chap last year and we very rarely see him. Hope elderly chap is ok, but the rest of the cats had hysterics at the stranger in our midst and I ended up with an accidental scratched lip rescuing him from the situation. We had a nice purr and a fuss outside instead. I don't know how we will re-integrate him as he was the dominant male and is much better at thumping than his fluffy brother. Fluffy ginger arrived with his abscess burst so that was pleasant. One of those days when you wish you hadn't given in to quite so many kittens.
I did bake this morning for our visitors, coconut macaroons and peanut butter cookies - both gluten free.
Sun Addict I have good intentions with cleaning and tidying but then give up when work gets busy, so just do the minimum for hygiene and then it all slides again. Current plan is to have at least the next few weeks off but it may all slide again as my work is usually urgent start.
Seaside I thought about a blog when I took VR, but I think for a good blog you really have to post regularly, and make 'pretty' food (not my skill set at all). It was just too complicated, and very few of them seem to last beyond a few years. I'd also be paranoid about having no followers, I minded less the idea of an unread diary on here if that makes sense.
The dishes are all in the DW, and the WM is loaded ready for the 'free' electricity in the morning. I've dashed around making sure the ground floor is at least as clean as it was when I went to bed last night, and OH/boys have gathered empty plates from around the house without being asked
Couple of pounds of cashback cleared, a small payout requested from PA and a short study done for them. Birthday cash, chocolate, wine and bath stuff arrived with my visitors which was lovely. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I like this free electricity Sunday. You seem to be on top of the cleaning and organising right now.

Thanks, mine was two weeks ago, but this was the bi-annual visit when the parentals drop things off and try not to comment on the state of the garden. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Happy Mother's Day redo! Heres to an excellent day with the family.
Hope poor fluffy is on the mend after the nasty abscess burst - and that his long lost bruv is getting on a bit better today with his other cat compatriots! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Thanks - its a very low key event round here as it lands bang in the middle of an expensive run of birthdays.
Poor DS1 still has his nasty cold - worst one I have known him have actually, I don't think he has been out of bed for more than half an hour since Thursday.
Salad for lunch, and pot roast beef for dinner. Salad worked very well - rocket and cucumber drizzled with lemon/oil dressing, potato salad with horseradish mayo, and then flaked oven poached salon and prawns on top. Served in big white pasta bowls, rare pretty food.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
