I did google... which brought me to this forum

Understand it must get repetitive giving out the same advice time after time.
Probably why it came up near the top of the Google search results. :rotfl:
But it must be rewarding to know you're counteracting the influence of these types of companies?
Can be, if posters feed back to us the outcome of our advice. Too many fail to do so once we've done the bulk of the work for them to get off their problem.

Take everything, give nothing back Britain. Don't get me started!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Just an update: I've gotten a couple more "final demands" for payment before they transfer it to a solicitor. I'm going to follow the advice on this forum and ignore communication from them until there's court papers, then appeal it.

I'll keep this forum posted with how things go! :money:

    Gah...

No, you do not "appeal" a court claim. You DEFEND a court claim. A DEFENCE is a series of legal arguments.

You dont ignore everything from them. If you get a "letter before claim" you MUST respond. To ignore leaves you open to costs under SPR27.14(g)(2)

Thanks so much for explaining, that's really helpful.

Do you think this process is intentionally complex?

It's the legal system ... of course it is complex. ;)
